L.O.L -Love (yourself) Out Loud

How often have you looked in the mirror and told yourself "I love you?"

February is the month dedicated to celebrating love. When we think about loving someone, most of us think of our friends, family, someone we admire, or even someone we are dating. Rarely do we think about loving ourselves first. Now that I've mentioned it, you probably thought, "Oh yeah, I do love myself." Growing up, I was told to "be nice to others," "let them go first," "forgive them," etc. Now, as an adult, I wish someone would have told me to "be kind to yourself," "it's ok to place your needs above others at times," "forgive yourself and give yourself grace," etc. I believe this would have allowed me to love myself more at an earlier age. I would not have allowed certain things people said or how others treated me to occur. I am here to say that it is ok to love yourself. Love yourself out loud, proud, flaws and all. Without this self-love, telling others how to love you is nearly impossible. Self-love does not mean that your love for others is lesser than your best. It means loving yourself, first, allows you to consider what is best for you and those things that could be harmful to you. Self-care can look like selfishness to those who don't have your best in the forefront of their minds. Today, try it!! Try to love yourself out loud and watch how much better you begin to feel about you. I challenge you to look in the mirror and give yourself a compliment at least twice a week. Be sure to let me know your thoughts. Take care of you💕

With Love,

Katrina C.
