Boundaries

Boundaries are not just about drawing a line,. Boundaries are about it’s about knowing yourself well enough to know when to draw the line and having the confidence to speak up when those boundaries are crossed. Sometimes people feel they can cross those boundaries because of their position in your life, I.e. parents, friends, teachers, etc. This far from the truth. If anything, people closest to you should know, respect, and understand your boundaries. Sometimes it’s hard to determine if a boundary was crossed. The main is to check in with your body. Our bodies know when something is off even when our hearts can’t make that determination. Our needs are ever changing, therefore our boundaries will also. Some things you were okay with before, you don’t have to constantly be okay with. You will to need to be confident enough to let others know that your boundaries have changed and that their actions have crossed the line. Setting boundaries can feel intimidating, even scary, but it can also be exhilarating and freeing. “Self care is not selfish”
